And my first blog....
I am so excited to be opening this online store! Truth be told, I am not the most internet savvy person, and so I'm on a slight learning curve, but picking things up quicker than I anticipated! So please bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of this most exciting world of online commercery.
I will still have my Etsy shop open, so you can still order from Etsy if that's what you're most comfortable with. So why did I open this shop then?
Well, I wanted slightly more freedom with my shop and its offerings, but also, let's be honest: Etsy fees are insane! It bothered me as my shop grew and their fees grew, that money was going straight into some fat cat's pocket for their yachts and crudites, when that money could go toward something bigger and better for all of us: charity, conservation, awareness... so many other things. So that's why for every sale made in this shop, I'm going to take the fees I would've paid Etsy and give them to a charity.
Right now, it's the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which seeks to rescue, rehabilitate and replenish Africa's beautiful, but endangered wildlife (while also fighting poaching.) Inconceivable Gifts has adopted a baby elephant, Mukutan, that was orphaned by his mother and pack, likely by human hands (in other words, hunting or trapping). So you can feel good that your purchase is going to help make the world a more beautiful place and save our wise and majestic elephants!
